Re: After Life
The finest comedian from our shores since Coogan....who he did blatantly copy a tad, but that's just another compliment.

I understood Gervais was off to Dignitas, I thought it was probably out of shame, can't believe he didn't go

Re: After Life
Best sitcom he's done without Merchant. Incredibly bittersweet though, prob leave it for a bit if you're having a bad time of it!

Re: After Life
Thanks for the tip off. I’ve watched the first three and it’s very good. I like most of Gervais’s shows. I don’t think much of his stand up though but you can’t have it all.

Re: After Life
Gervais is brilliant and everything he does is watchable, to think I thought he was annoying and crass in Da Ali G show segment that he used to do way back when.

Watched 4 episodes and can safely say the genius has done it again. Some of the script is pure poetry.

Not very funny. Rather pathetic in reality. He should get Merchant back on the firm..

Re: After Life
Watched five of six, will watch the last tomorrow.

Some amusing bits, but he pushed the suicide stuff too much. He could have made the character more complex in his obsession with his dead wife, instead every reference was simply about suicide.

Genuinely suicidal people don’t bang on as much as the character which makes him a bit of a parody of itself as you can predict the words coming out his mouth almost.

I’ll watch the last one as I enjoyed it, but Derek had more insight and was a lot more complex.

More original than most things lately mind.
